We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danny Russo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danny below.

Alright, Danny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be an interior designer. My career launched when I landed my two largest clients after I moved to Columbus, and twenty years later, I’ve never looked back. I started my company during the Great Recession and have seen my entire industry get turned upside down and inside out. Everything we knew back then has dramatically changed, and it has been an exciting ride to get to where we are today! I’ve built a dedicated and loyal client base. I was one of the first Columbus designers to hone in on the digital revolution, use it to showcase my work, garner business and communicate with clients. I’m grateful for the referrals I receive from clients, their friends and families. It’s also important to keep up with new technologies so that you remain at the forefront of this ever-changing world.

Danny, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

What sets me apart from other designers is my experience on the client side, which means I know how important it is to communicate honestly with clients. Designers are known to break traditional design rules and incorporate patterns and textures that clients might not think about, and they shouldn’t think about. We take on the challenge of finding cohesive pieces to achieve a client’s design vision. We, as designers, add, fill gaps, and pivot in ways that we know will work beautifully.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Making it through a pandemic, which built up my brand and resilience like no other, was one of the moments that I consider a transition point in my career. It was definitely something none of us had planned for or ever expected, and I could write a series of stories on what occurred during that 36-month period. We were faced with supply chains that were near non-existent. Communication and expectations with clients were challenged. Now on the other side of it, I’m grateful for the hardship, because it made me better at my craft.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

It has been the busiest since the pandemic, and because of my experience, I am active on social media and regularly update my passion. Clients and potential clients are my priority. I solidified my position in my industry by pushing for change and coming up with new and innovative ways to work with other designers and vendors. Whether developing new technology, creating new products, or even updating building codes, I have been at the forefront of the digital design generation!
